"As I begin a piece I allow myself to react and consider every stitch and scrap of fabric for what it brings... I imagine it’s past. The cummulative journey of each collection of fibers tells it’s own story of history from the different path each has taken. Ancient kimono scraps, silk persian robe bits... vibrant pieces of mary quant’s fabrics from the 1960’s..all of these pieces are incorporated into my work. I am at times humbled to think of how these individual scraps have been saved by the thoughtful and frugal women of past generations." - from the WNC Design Guide
